Kochi: Congress leader and former Excise Minister K Babu was questioned by Enforcement Directorate in connection with the case of illegal assets. He was interrogated at Kochi ED office.
Vigilance had earlier found out that 49 percent of K Babu’s assets was acquired illegally. Vigilance filed charge sheet in the year 2018 and in 2019, Muvattupuzha vigilance court had also unmasked that Babu had disproportionate wealth.
Vigilance revealed that K Babu had illegally owned 28.82 lac rupees between 2001 and 2016. Vigilance had also submitted a detailed report to the court in 2017, based on the inquiry on his visits to foreign countries as well as the source of his expenditure.
