Kattakkada Sangeeth murder case: one more convict surrendered

Thiruvananthapuram: One more accused of Katakkada Sangeeth murder case has surrendered before police this morning. The convict of the case Baiju is the native of Vellarada. All the seven convicts related to the murder case have been detained.

The shocking incident took place in the wee hours of January 24. The accused, who were the members of the land mafia, killed Sangeeth, when the latter tried to block the mafia team from taking red soil from the plot owned by Sangeeth. The accused first used tipper to hit Sangeeth and when Sangeeth stood his ground, the criminals used the rear bucket of the soil excavator to hit him. Sangeeth was crushed against the compound wall. Ribs of both sides had compound fractures and his head too was fatally injured in the attack.

The accused are Saju alias Stalin John of Charupara, Uthaman alias Manikandan of Kizhamachel, Ambalathinkara, Linu of Kollamkonam, Midhun of Koovalassery near Maranallur, Lal Kumar alias Unni of Chemboor, Vineesh alias Thenga Aneesh of Ottashekharamangalam and Baiju of Vellarada who surrendered today.
