United Kerala : 62 years old

Today Kerala celebrates its 62nd birthday. Kerala rose up like a phoenix bird from ashes with confidence and survive all the odds together. Janam TV wishes Malayalees all around the world “Happy Kerala Piravi”

Let us take a moment to look back to those 62 years of achievements, damages, more over challenges. Nature demolished God’s own country, we are here in that Kerala which was shattered with flood and landslide. Kerala remains as a land covered with green velvet in world tourism map,in the hearts of travelers. The beauty blessed with a balanced climate and different types of geography made the piece of land God’s own, however the Governments cared only for the income never on the sacred land’s heart.

The lands of Travancore, Cochin, and Malabar joined together to form today’s Kerala. The State the eternal bliss of eastern highlands, central mid-lands and western lowlands is as old as far as a myth is.

At the time when Kerala was formed more than half the population of the state were farmers. When modernization spread its wings over the farmland, only a fraction of the farmers are willing to cultivate any crops. Although every other alternative Government showered policies, the war with tribes for the rights on the forest land still goes on.

A century ago, the social revival movements and heroes raised the fame of our State to the world. Complete literacy was the next milestone for which Kerala has been known for along with tourism, and arts. Child deaths, famine and violence against women constantly questions the renaissance of Kerala.

Kerala was a picture perfect place. Call it a high breed with all the beauty from all the parts of the world. Nature cherished the land with colors and culture, in return what we gave to the lap of nature was waste piles and ignorance.

Keralites embraced exile to Gulf countries when faced with hot plates in State’s industrial sector. The migrants build a much secured and strong financial structure. Present day after six decades of its birth Kerala has its children around the world.

Lets welcome a new dawn filled with anticipation of land where the law will pamper its public, no one dies of hunger, no child is denied good health and education, rulers who rule to roll out the odd.
