Thiruvananthapuram : NGO Sangh is to approach the High Court against the new circular on Salary Challenge by the State Government. The NGO Sangh stated that even the new circular bares a compulsion to donate a months salary to the relief fund.
No employee can give any amount lesser than his salary to the CMs flood relief funds office, not directly nor indirectly. Those who cannot contribute their entire months earning is not considered a part of the Salary challenge as per the new circular.
Demanding a disagreement paper from those who are not a part of the salary challenge is not required, the High Court issued a stay order on it, against which the State filed petition in the Supreme Court and was criticized by the Supreme Court for its actions also the Supreme Court reassured the High Courts verdict. the questioned why an individual should insult themselves with such an action. The court referred to the words of Louie VI, who said he would die a thousand times better than living without self-respect.
