Pathanamthitta : The Supreme Court has recommended that all construction activities in Sabarimala has to be stopped. The interim report of the Empowered Committee suggests that construction in the forest land at Sabarimala, Pamba and Nilakkal should be stopped.
The Bench, headed by Justice Madan B. Lokur will consider the interim report today. Amarnath Shetty , Secretary to the High Council has submitted the report to Supreme Court.
The high level committee was constituted on the basis of a petition filed by environmental activist Shobhindra.
Only the construction of the basic amenities like drinking water supply and toilets will be allowed till the Master Plan is finalized. The report strict to a firm NO on the rebuild and repair of the damaged building in Pamba. The main agenda of the report is to save the environment at Pamba and Sabarimala by stopping the unauthorized construction activities.
The Devaswom board had given four-weeks time to answer to the report.
