Alappuzha: CPI has come out in public protest against the finance Minister Thomas Isaac. The protest is being held for not sorting out the crisis in the coir sector. CPI Alappuzha district secretary T J Angelos has slammed the Minister for not doing anything productive for the coir sector except increasing Facebook likes.
At present, the coir sector is under heavy crisis, subsequently compelling factories to shut down one by one.
Even the workers are not paid the minimum wage. It is alleged that the Minister is moving ahead with measures disrupting the coir sector.
The CPI criticized the minister for not fulfilling the promises made in the Left Front manifesto.
