Thiruvananthapuram: As Kasaragod registers the highest number of coronavirus cases in the state, a team constituting of 26 doctors and medical staff of the Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram has commenced their journey to Kasaragod on Sunday.
At the same time, the new administrative block of Kasaragod Medical College will soon be transformed into a COVID-19 hospital for ensuring better treatment facilities to the patients.
The team will also coordinate the operations of the COVID-19 hospital, train staff and treat patients.
The hospital is expected to have 200 beds in the isolation ward and 20 intensive care units. Initially an amount of Rs 7 crore has been allocated for the COVID-19 hospital
