Pathanamthitta : The devotees who waited the whole night for darshan, have been questioned by the police authority, to get their identity proof. On asking the question who are you? devotees started to respond as “Ayyappa”. Devotees who pledge themselves for days long austerity, for darshana, is recognized as “Ayyappa” in respect and devotion to the lord.
The policemen who are too strict to the devotees who visit Sabarimala demand all the details reflecting their identity, is when devotees responded with their answer as “Ayyappa”. Around 300 of them addressed themselves as “Ayyappa” to the policemen in protest.
The bus started from Nilakkal only after 11.00 am. Earlier the police ruined the situation by blocking the buses, leading to protest by the devotees.
