Thiruvananthapuram: The coronavirus lockdown restrictions in the state will be relaxed from Tuesday. The restrictions will be relaxed after dividing districts into four zones. However, the restrictions will continue in the red zone districts.
Due to the red zone in Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode and Malappuram, there will be complete lockdown in these districts till May 3. Ernakulam, Kollam, Pathanamthitta falls under Orange A category and therefore partial relaxation will be given after 24th April. Partial rlaxations will be given in Orange B Zone in Alappuzha, Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram, Wayanad and Thrissur districts from tomorrow. Extensive relaxations will be allowed in Kottayam and Idukki districts which falls in the green zone.
Security arrangements will be made in the Kottayam and Idukki districts to ensure normal state of living. Vehicles with single and double digit numbers will be allowed to get on wheels. Vehicles with single digits can get on roads on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Vehicles with double digit numbers will also be allowed on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The public transport system was initially granted permission but was excluded due to lack of permission from the central government. Meanwhile, schools, colleges, tuition centers, PSC coaching centers and other educational institutions should be closed till May 3. Cinema theaters, gymnasiums, shopping complexes, parks, auditoriums and bars are not permitted to operate.
No more than 20 people should attend weddings and funerals. Movements in the red zones will be restricted.
Hotels and homestays can operate with strict restrictions. The construction sector has been relaxed in the government sector and industrial sectors. Restaurants can serve up to 7 pm and food can be served in parcels until 8 pm. The IT sector has been permitted to work with 50 per cent of its employees. However, auto and taxi services may not take place till May 3.
