Palakkad: Alathur MP Ramya Haridas on Tuesday defied lockdown guidelines for the sake of publicity. In Alathur’s Puthukode village panchayats, she violated lockdown norms by exposing that she has joined hands with religious fundamentalist organisations for the purpose of voluntary action during the coronavirus crisis.

Ramya Haridas has apparently ignored the instructions from the Central and the state governments.

The MP and religious fundamentalist groups gathered at Venganoor of Puthukode grama panchayat and community kitchen. In the pretext of helping those working in the community kitchen at Puthukode, she came with 50 other people which thereby is a violation of the guidelines.

It is also to be noted that many people in the group, including the MP, were not wearing masks or other preventive equipment. Interestingly, at every corner photographs were clicked for publicity.

In the wake of coronavirus, the government had ordered people to avoid gathering in masses at public places and practise social distancing. However, the MP and her team are roaming around in public, giving no importance to the government orders.
