Aluva: Complaints are pouring in against CPM Perumbavoor Area Committee Secretary M Salim for lending money to the needy at high interest rates. The complaint also alleges that the area secretary is making use of goons to threaten those who did not repay interest.
One of the persons who borrowed money tried to commit suicide due to Salim’s continuous threat. However, it is alleged that this case was settled with the help of police.
Salim is also accused of cheating money from bar owners by threatening them. However he, escaped using his high-profile connections, though action was taken against two Excise officials for embezzlement.
There has also been criticism among party workers over the area secretary’s illegal financial dealings.
