Thiruvananthapuram: The Crime Branch is questioning SNDP General Secretary Vellappally Natesan in connection with Kollam SN College Golden Jubilee scam case. He has been alleged of embezzling an amount of Rs 1,02,61,296 in the Golden Jubilee celebration during the year 1997-98.
The High Court on June 22 had directed to file a chargesheet against the case. The investigation into the case was initiated on a personal basis by SN Suresh Babu, a trustee of SN Trust.
During the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Kollam SN College in 1997-98, it was decided to construct an auditorium and a library complex. For this project, an exhibition was organised and fund was collected in the programme.
The amount was deposited at the South Indian Bank in Kollam and later Vellappally Natesan embezzled the fund.
