Kochi: Owing to the possibility of community transmission of coronavirus, Kochi has been put on high alert. Police surveillance have been tightened in various parts of the city. A group of workers were made to disperse from Kaloor by ACP Lalji.
At the same time, Minister V S Sunil Kumar said that the situation in Aluva is worse than Ernakulam. From now on, only the wholesale market will be allowed to open in the Aluva market.
“Most of the people in Aluva are not wearing masks. If the same situation prevails, there will be a need to implement a triple lockdown,” said the minister.
Minister V S Sunil Kumar’s response came after a high-level meeting chaired by him to assess the situation in Aluva.
