Thiruvananthapuram: The coronavirus infections due to contact in the state is going out of control and as of now the rate of spread of the disease has surged to 65%.
The condition in Thiruvananthapuram is worsening day by day. Of the 201 people diagnosed with the disease, 181 were infected through contact.
The number of cases infected through contact is higher than the number of confirmed cases from people from abroad and other states. In the first week of July, the prevalence of contact was only 9 per cent. On July 5 it rose to 17 per cent, and 49 per cent on July 10.
The Chief Minister had warned yesterday that the next phase of coronavirus would be community transmission.
