Thiruvananthapuram: In a significant development, NIA raided Kerala State IT Infrastructure Limited. Former Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister M Sivasankar was earlier the Chairman of Kerala State IT Infrastructure Limited.
Apparently, Swapna Suresh, the main accused in the gold smuggling case, was also an employee of the company.
Kerala State IT Infrastructure Limited falls under IT department that comes under the control of the Chief Minister of the state.
This is the first time the NIA has raided a government institution as part of its investigation into a gold smuggling case.
