Pathanamthitta: The controversial private company PricewaterhouseCoopers have been provided an office at the Secretariat building. According to document report, the office was given in the context of hastening the work of the company.

In addition to the office, the government has sanctioned a whooping amount of Rs 14 crore for hiring new staffs and other expenses. Janam TV has obtained the documents mentioning this move.

The Transportation Secretary had recommended that the office be allowed to open because the Secretariat staff did not have the efficiency to perform the tasks assigned to the company. Earlier, allegations had surfaced that the process of opening an office for a consulting agency called PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Secretariat building was in its final stages. However, the Chief Minister himself had refuted the allegation.

The documents, however, expose that the move had already started. These documents state that on September 27, 2018, the government had given permission to a private company to open an office at the Secretariat.
The document also states that existing government employees were unable to carry out such tasks efficiently.
