Thrissur: A CPM local secretary and others have been sentenced to 11 years in prison for trying to murder the KSU chairman candidate of Guruvayoor Srikrishna College. The court convicted CPM Kandanassery local secretary Sajeeb and SFI activists Ajay, Aromal, Rajesh, Jitesh and Surjit.
The verdict pertains to the case in January 20, 2015 when KSU leader and Chairman candidate Abdul Muneer and his mates were attacked with harmful weapons.
Chavakkad sessions Judge TD Biju ordered 11 years of imprisonment and a compensation of Rs 1,02,000 under IPC 307.
