Thiruvananthapuram: CPM poliburo member S Ramachandran Pillai admitted that he used to go to RSS Shakha when he was young. SRP made his statement in response to an article written by news editor of Janmabhoomi daily P Sreekumar.

Pillai said that he until the age of 15 he used to be a part of RSS Shakha and only at the age of 18 he joined the communist party.

The Janmabhoomi article was published in response to CPM state secretary Kodiyeri’s statement that Ramesh Chennithala belonged to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The article has sparked next controversy in Kerala politics.

Janmabhoomi responded to Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s statement that Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala was like a son of the RSS. The article states that the RSS is not Ramesh Chennithala, but is R Shankar and S Ramachandran Pillai.
