Kozhikode: BJP state president K Surendran demanded Minister K T Jaleel’s resignation in connection with gold smuggling actions tend to be suspicious. He alleged in a virtual press conference that the state government was constantly trying to sabotage the investigation.

Surendran slammed the CPM spokespersons and leaders for keeping mum despite several evidences popped out against the government in the smuggling case.

BJP state chief raised serious allegations against Minister for Higher Education, KT Jaleel.

He said, ” The probe team found that 28 packets were sent form UAE Consulate to C-apt and all these packets were forwarded to Malappuram.”

It is to be noted that C-apt comes under KT Jaleel’s higher education department.

Surendran continued,” When the probe team happened to interrogate the officials at C-apt, Jaleel claimed that the packets contained Quran. What was the need to send Quran from UAE when it is readily available anywhere in Kerala?”

Surendran alleged that all appointments in C-apt were carried out illegally.

At the same time, he also slammed the Uralungal Labour Contract Cooperative Society in connection with the case.
