Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president K Surendran has demanded an immediate resignation of the Chief Minister after a report has been filed in the NIA court that Swapna Suresh, second accused in a gold smuggling case, has close links with the Chief Minister.
He said in a statement that the country is shocked to know when the NIA said that the accused in the treason case had high influence with the Chief Minister’s office.
Surendran raised a serious allegation that Chief Minister has given safe haven to international smugglers who have crucial influence with UAE Consulate and Government of Kerala. The NIA has given nod to whatever the BJP had claimed before.
Swapna had said that Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister M Sivasankar was her mentor. Surendran asked if the Chief Minister had appointed his Principal Secretary to be the mentor of the traitors.
He said that it is a serious lapse from the government that even after Swapna resigned from the Consulate, she was being rewarded and she had a major role in the space park project of the state government.
“It would be great shame for Kerala if the CM delayed his resignation and neglected to face the probe,” Surendran added.
