Idukki: Sevabharathi has come forward for the rescue operations in Idukki’s Rajamala due to landslides. Heavy rains are causing hindrance to the rescue operations. However, Sevabharati workers from Devikulam have reached the spot.
Also workers from Adimali and other areas will join the team for the rescue operations.
A 50-member team of fire and rescue officials has been sent to the landslide spot at Rajamala in Idukki district, informed Chief Minister’s Office.
“An NDRF team has been deployed to rescue the landslide victims in Rajamala, Idukki. Police, Fire Force, Forest & Revenue officials have been instructed to join the rescue efforts. Another team of NDRF, based in Thrissur, will soon reach Idukki,” tweeted CM Pinarayi Vijayan.

Heavy rains have caused massive landslide at Rajamala in Munnar of Idukki district. Initial reports from local revenue officials, at around 11.30 AM, suggest that five people have died. Ten others have been rescued so far.
