Pathanamthitta: As the water level rose due to incessant rainfall, the Pampa dam’s shutters will be opened today. However, the KSEB has made it clear that people need not worry.
KSEB also informed that there will be no significant problems as it is a small dam.
Although due to heavy downpour, there is hardly anything to worry about dams including the Idukki dam and several others. However, KSEB said that there was no need to release water excessively.
Six shutters of the dam will be raised by 2 feet each. The maximum opening of the shutters are at 16 feet. When they are opened at 2 ft, 82 cumecs water will be released which will be reflected in Ranni within 5 hours. Also, the water level at Pamba river is expected to rise by 40 cm.
