Idukki: In the massive landslide that occurred in Idukki’s Rajamala, the death toll rose to 28 on Sunday with two more bodies being retrieved from the debris.
“Three days after the settlements were swept away by devastating landslides at Pettimudi near Rajamala, authorities have now decided to take help of sniffer dogs to trace the persons buried under the debris,” officials said.
The landslide occurred on early Friday when huge mound of earth fell on the row houses of tea estate workers.
Incessant rains and landslides have created a havoc in the state following the rise in water level in rivers in central Kerala.
