Thiruvananthapuram: In the midst of ongoing investigation into gold smuggling case, the National Investigation Agency is reportedly collecting crucial information about terrorist/extremist organizations. The NIA is collecting information from the accused arrested in the case.
From the onset, the investigation team had suspected that the gold smuggling through the UAE diplomatic baggage had links with international terrorism. The investigation is going in the same direction.
The gold were not handed over to jewellery shops prompted NIA to take the case into another direction.
It is believed that the terrorist organizations in the state are becoming stronger day by day due to funding. The NIA estimates that if this can be prevented, the roots of such activities in Kerala can be reduced to some extent.
With the completion of the investigation into the gold smuggling case, there are indications that the NIA will lock up the financial resources of the IS sleeper cells in Kerala. There is strong support from the Central Government in this regard.
