Thiruvananthapuram : Electric buses will be availed for regular service. The plans to reduce pollution, will soon replace all the buses by the electric buses, in the near future. The electric buses will be deployed in the Capital city.
The silver grey colored bus have 33 seats in its 9 meter lengthy steel body.
Kerala is the first State among the South States, to introduce electric buses for regular serve on business base. The buses will be drove similar to wet lease.
The buses have been bought on 10 years of GCC agreement. The bus will consume only 0.8 unit of electricity to cover a kilometer.
10 buses will start its serve at Pamba in this Mandala Makara Vilakk Darshan season. The bus can travel in a speed 60 km/hr wherein it can accelerate up to 120 km/hr.
The buses are ready to be deployed at Pappanamkode of Capital city. Chief Minister will inaugurate the buses at Thiruvananthapuram bus depot today.
