Thiruvananthapuram: In the latest findings, it has been revealed that instead of Red Crescent officials, the UAE consul general signed the contract to construct flats and hospital in Wadakkanchery as part of the Life Mission contract with Unitac Builders.
Back in July 2019, the Red Crescent and the Life Mission CEO on behalf of the government signed the contract for the financial assistance for the flat construction. Now, it has come to light that a sub-contract was also signed in addition to this. The UAE consul general in Kerala signed this sub-contract instead of the Red Crescent officials on July 31, 2019.
According to the Life Mission agreement signed by the state government and Red Crescent, the deal should be signed with the respective builder. However, when the contract was drafted Red Crescent was completely left out from the document.
Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate has sought report from the Chief Secretary.
