Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president K Surendran said that the fire in the Secretariat’s protocol section was orchestrated. He alleged that the move was to destroy the evidence in the gold smuggling case.
This is due to the fear that the probe will reach the Chief Minister. Surendran also demanded a thorough investigation into the matter. He also said that the fire was an attempt to destroy information related to Minister K T Jaleel.
At the same time, BJP leaders including K Surendran has been arrested by the police for protesting outside the Secretariat.
A fire broke out at the Secretariat’s protocol department on Tuesday around 5 pm. Several files have been reportedly destroyed. However, the Additional Secretary of the Department of Public Administration stated that all important files are safe.
