Thiruvananthapuram: The Bharatiya Janata Party is observing today as a day of protest against the fire accident at the Secretariat in the capital city.
The BJP is observing a state-wide protest against the deliberate attempt to burn files and the forcible arrest of party state president K Surendran and other leaders.
The fire that broke out in the Secretariat has erupted a huge controversy as important files and documents pertaining to controversial gold smuggling case were stored. The BJP and Congress have alleged that it was a move to sabotage the evidence and save the accused in the gold smuggling case.
