Kochi: Kerala Congress (M) veteran and senior legislator P J Joseph on Tuesday approached the Kerala High Court on Tuesday after the Election Commission recognised the rival faction headed by Jose K Mani as original KC (M) and allotted the party symbol of two leaves to them.
The Election Commission gave the symbol to Jose’s party without examining the facts, states PJ Joseph’s petition.
The Election Commission’s order is based on the views of only 305 members of the 450-member state committee. According to the petition, the Magistrate’s Court has barred Jose K. Mani from taking charge as the Chairman of the Kerala Congress.
The High Court may hear the petition tomorrow.
