Kannur: Syed Muhammad Salahuddin, the seventh accused in the murder case of RSS worker Shyamaprasad, was hacked to death in Peravoor on Tuesday evening.
Salahuddin was travelling in car with family when a gang followed on bike and rammed into the car. When he stepped out of the car, he was hacked. He suffered injuries on his neck and was rushed to Thalassery cooperative hospital. But died on the way.
Salahuddin, a Popular Front activist, was accused in the murder case of RSS worker Shyamaprasad two years ago. Salahuddin, who had been in hiding for a year, later surrendered to the Mattannur court. Police had identified him and his brother Nizamuddin as the masterminds of the murder.
