Thiruvananthapuram: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will examine the CCTV footage of the Secretariat in connection with the gold smuggling case. 40 CCTV footage including the cameras of the main building that has Chief Minister’s office and cantonment area, will be examined.
NIA has found that copying of the CCTV footage of the previous year would cost around Rs 1.4 crores. Therefore copying visuals from half of these cameras would cost Rs 70 lakhs.
The public administration department has directed the electrical section of the PWD department to provide all necessary facilities. For the equipment purchase needed for copying the visuals, tender procedures will begin soon.
