Kochi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will be grilling CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s son Bineesh Kodiyeri in connection with the gold smuggling case.
The questioning will also revolve around the Bengaluru drugs scandal. The Southern office of the NIA has collected information from the Narcotics Control Bureau to find out if any anti-national activities were carried out.
Bineesh made headlines after one of the accused in the drug case Anoop Mohammed revealed that the former had given financial aid several times. Bineesh also funded a restaurant that Anoop started a few years ago.
