Kochi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will be interrogating Swapna Suresh, one of the main accused in gold smuggling case, in connection with the Life Mission project in Wadakkancherry.
The CBI who is investigating into the misappropriation in Life Mission project has named owner of Unitac Builders Santosh Eapen. CBI suspects that crucial information will be obtained from Swapna relating to Life Mission project.
CBI is likely to submit an application in the court seeking custody of Swapna Suresh and PS Sarith, another accused in the gold smuggling case. Swapna Suresh had earlier given the statement that she had received Rs 1 crore as commission from the project.
As per the contract signed, the builder was to be chosen by Life Mission and UAE-based Red Crescent which was funding the project. But the UAE Consulate General sabotaged this contract condition and appointed Unitac Builders.
