Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that he takes violence, atrocities, humiliation and defamation campaigns against women very seriously. The incidents of attempting to insult womanhood beyond the bounds of decency and etiquette must never be repeated.
Strict legal action will be taken against those who shreds womanhood. If the existing legal possibilities are not sufficient for it, appropriate legislation will be considered.
Four cases have been registered at Thampanoor and Museum police stations in connection with the incident in which a video was posted on YouTube insulting women. The person who posted the video on YouTube has been charged under sections 364 A (1), 509 of the Indian Penal Code and 120 (O) of the Kerala Police Act. The YouTube authorities have been asked to delete the controversial video.
