Thiruvananthapuram: With the rising number of cases of coronavirus, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has decided to request the government to declare a health emergency in the state.
IMA states that public need to be made aware of the seriousness of the situation and adhere to the restrictions to contain the transmission.
Although the mortality rate is relatively low, the prevalence of the disease is increasing day by day. This is something to be taken seriously. While the lockdown is not required, the IMA said it must ensure that social restrictions are strictly adhered to.
A total of 1 lakh people were confirmed with the coronvirus infection within 28 days in the state.
Hence, the government need to take action to stop further COVID transmission, IMA demanded.
