Kochi: Bishop Franco Mulakkal, accused in the raping of a nun case, petition has been dismissed by the High Court. In the petition he had sought an adjournment of the trial, however, the court ordered to continue the trial in the case.
He approached the HC seeking that the trial be adjourned for two months in the wake of coronavirus. But the court observed that prolonging the trial would cause great inconvenience to witnesses. The petition was subsequently dismissed.
The court has directed that the trial proceedings be resumed from the 5th of this month.
