Kochi: In the ongoing investigation into the Life Mission case, the CBI informed the High Court that there has been a corruption in the project. The CBI also told the court that it is examining whether the officials of Life Mission have a hand in accepting the funds.
The court also rejected the petitioner’s demand that the CBI probe into the case be given a stay.
The court today heard a petition filed by Santosh Eapan seeking quashing of the FIR registered against him by the CBI. Eepan argued that Unitac was not responsible if there was any corruption in the Life Mission and that it was only his private agency.
The CBI made it clear of the corruption charges in distributing phones and money. The commission given by Santosh Eapen to Swapna Suresh, the accused in the gold smuggling, can also be considered as a bribe.
