Kochi: Swapna Suresh, main accused in the high-profile gold smuggling case was granted bail on Monday in a case registered by the Customs. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Economic Offences granted bail to Swapna Suresh.
Even after 60 days, the Customs could not produce a chargesheet and hence she was granted a bail.
Since the other agencies such as the NIA and the Enforcement Directorate have registered a case against Swapna Suresh, she cannot be released.
