Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvananthapuram Chief Judicial Magistrate court on Wednesday granted bail to the accused in the Kerala Assembly ruckus in 2015 on condition. V Sivankutty, Kunjahmmad, C.K. Sadasivan and K Ajith were granted bail and ordered them to furnish a bail bond of Rs 35,000 per person.

The four of them took bail after the CJM court rejected government’s demand to withdraw the case. However, Ministers K T Jaleel and E P Jayarajan have not taken bail in the case. Both informed the court that they could not appear in the court due to health-related problems.

The court refused to withdraw the case as the accused were booked for offences including damaging of public property.

The then opposition LDF unleashed violence in the Assembly on March 13, 2015 in protest of KM Mani’s presentation of the budget amid allegations of corruption. The LDF alleged that Mani had accepted Rs 1 crore as bribe to open closed bars.

The Opposition entered into Speaker’s chamber and toppled the chair and several computers were dismantled.
