Mysuru: Raju Bhai, a native of Andhra Pradesh, has been arrested by the Mysore police in connection with the smuggling of 500 kg of ganja into Kerala. Kannur district’s CPM Cheengakundam Branch Secretary Subilash was also arrested by the police earlier for associating with the accused to smuggle ganja.
The police stated that the seized ganja in Thiruvananthapuram’s Attingal was sent by Raju Bhai from Andhra Pradesh.
State Excise Enforcement Squad (SEES) seized national permit container lorry that contained 500 kilograms of ganja inside the secret locker from Attingal in September. This is Kerala’s biggest ever ganja bust reported.
The smuggling of ganja from Andhra Pradesh was planned in Mysuru. The Mysuru-based Malayalees were behind the smuggling. Sajeevan Babu and Jithinraj from Kannur were behind the conspiracy. Both were arrested by the Mysuru police.
