Kannur: In a backlash for the CPM, brother of Pushpan has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party today. Pushpan was shot in Koothuparamba during a protest and has been paralysed since then. Sasi, an active CPM worker, quit the party and joined the BJP in protest of the CPM leadership’s double standards.
Sasi was given BJP membership by party’s state secretary Advocate Prakash Babu at the Thalassery constituency committee office.
Prakash Babu said that despite the threats from the CPM leadership, disgruntled workers would still join the BJP and that it would be a gift to the CPM on its 100th birthday.
Along with Sasi, CPM members from the Chokli region also joined the BJP today.
