Thiruvananthapuram: The CPI (M) has directed left-leaning government employees to collect maximum amount to the election fund. The total share was fixed at Rs 15 crores. The amount ranges from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000 per member. Gazetted officers have been asked to donate maximum amount.
In districts like Malappuram, which has less members, the individual share is higher.
In view of this decision, the CPM asked the Finance Ministry to postpone its decision to withhold salaries in the second phase.
