Thiruvananthapuram: In a new order, the driving license of the pillion rider will be suspended if failed to war helmet.
Transport Commissioner M R Ajith Kumar stated that the officials have the authority to suspend the license as per the latest amendment made in the Central Motor Vehicles Rules. The person sitting behind the rider must also wear the helmet.
Along with three months suspension, a penalty of Rs 500 will be charged from the rider. The pillion rider can be sent to driver refresher course.
