Kochi: The High Court on Tuesday rejected the plea seeking a stay on the case pertaining to ruckus in the Assembly. The state government has been trying desperately to get rid of the noose.
The High Court also asked ministers EP Jayarajan and K T Jaleel to appear in the trial court on Wednesday.
The then opposition LDF unleashed violence in the Assembly on March 13, 2015 in protest of KM Mani’s presentation of the budget amid allegations of corruption. The LDF alleged that Mani had accepted Rs 1 crore as bribe to open closed bars.
A case was registered against then MLAs Jayarajan and Jaleel for damaging public property.
