Thiruvananthapuram: Noose tightens for M Sivasankar, former principal secretary to Chief Minister, in the gold smuggling case. An Enforcement inquiry has been launched into Sivasankar’s assets. The assets are being examined to find out whether there has been any financial gain by assisting the accused in the gold smuggling case.
The team is currently inspecting bank deposits and real estate. The probe team is also looking into whether he has a bank account in his own name.
The probe team has received information that Sivasankar had made a benami investment of crores in a wind farm in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu. During his tenure as KSEB chairman, he established close ties with power generation companies in Nagercoil.
