Pathanamthitta: Activist Rehana Fathima has been arrested by Pathanamthitta Police.

High Court had earlier rejected Rehana’s anticipatory bail plea. Rehana sought bail as the police had registered case on the basis of complaint filed, alleging her social media posts hurt religious sentiments. Court dismissed her bail plea and directed that the police can take required steps.

The court had also asked, why should one go to Sabarimala, who in her post says Lord Ayyappa is not a hindu.

Rehana Fathima had posted in face book defaming the idol of Ayyappa, before her attempt to enter Sabarimala. Radhakrishna Menon, native of Kottayam, filed a complaint against this.

Rehana, soon after the Supreme Court verdict had tried to enter Sabarimala. She was forced to return from Nadappanthal amid strong protests from devotees.
