Thiruvananthapuram : The Government has sabotaged the tender procedures and crippled the paper purchase for text book printing.
The State Government had approved the contract to News Print Limited, Tamilnadu, overpowering the procedure of tender. Allegations that crores were stolen under the cover of the contract.
The Government’s action becomes graver as Tamilnadu News Print Ltd has not even involved in the tender process. Tender is mandatory for all the contracts above Five lakhs, instruction regarding the same was directed from the Finance Minister’s office, allegation says so.
However the Government’s explanation was that, the tender was invited but there were not proper companies to attend.
