Sabarimala : Police has imposed too much of restrictions at Sannidhanam, eventually affecting the customs of Sabarimala. In this pilgrimage season, first Pampa Sadya served after 16 days.
In previous years, from day one of the season, 5 Pampa Sadyas on each day used to be served at Pampa Manappuram. This time Pampa Manappuram had to wait for 16 days to witness feeding the pilgrims. Mavelikkara Sri Sabariasha Darsana Padayatra Samithy took the responsibility to serve the traditional Sadya on Monday.
The stubborn stand of the Government and the frequent forced interference of the police in all the customs of the temple had tapered pilgrims visit to a great extend.
Prohibitory orders and other set of restrictions had hampered the harmony of Sabarimala. Majority of pilgrims have backed out from the pilgrimage till the protection of the temple tradition is ensured.
