Kochi : TDB informed HC on the challenges in implementing the women entry verdict. TDB has submitted affidavit requesting more time for women entry.
No facilities have been arranged for women, hence need more time. Board requested for time till the execution of the maser plan. Permission for the the beginning of the construction master plan is yet to receive. Also TDB notified HC on the restrictions to get the forest land. TDB expressed its stand while HC was considering the petitions by 4 women seeking protection to trek Sabarimala. TDB made it clear in its affidavit that, there are practical challenges in providing protection for women to trek Sabarimala as of now.
Completing the construction work, bounded to time is not practical. A petition is also filed at Supreme Court requesting more time to implement the verdict. TDB pointed out to HC.
Meanwhile HC sought observations of Samithy, designated by the Devaswom bench to look into Sabarimala issue, about the present conditions of Sabarimala in regards to the possibilities of women entry. Court has directed the three member team to submit report on the concern after making detailed observation on the facilities at Sabarimala. The Court rejected the proposal by the State Government to add the Samithy constitutes of three members to the list of petitioners on the plea. On the other hand Court accepted the plea of two to stand against the women entry petition by the Government. Jayalakshmi a native of Perumbavoor and Kannangadav Kshetra Araya Samajam are the two opposition petitioners.
