Kochi : High Court blamed the State Government on its failure to help the poor and those who are in need. The Government is bounded to stretch its hands to citizens who fell into never ending loops of debt out of treatment coast. The Court demanded a report in a fortnight, reflecting details of schemes introduced by the State Government to aide the treatment of those who can not afford them. Court criticized the Government, referring to the family that became homeless for meeting the medical expense.
Alavi of Karuvarakkund, Malappuram took financial assistance from District Cooperative Bank, for the treatment of his children. Alavi’s shelter was seized as per sarfaesi act. Alavi in vain approached the Court and High Court took a serious stand on his concern. Court instructed the Government to notify the court on schemes introduced by the State Government to aide the treatment of those who can not afford them. The report must also include plans adopted for families in similar circumstances. The Court also criticized the Government’s claim, of spending huge amounts for social upliftment and human rights protection. The court expressed its disappointment in Government’s failure to help the needy. High Court evaluated and highlighted the relevance of the legislature to be in the front to help those, like the petitioner.
